As Plowed Earth
You, as plouwed Earth, Soft, moist and open womb, Receptive to welcome back The given seed. My bare feet dig Through Your ploughed Earth. With Songs of Praise I shed here And hope and trust anew. Day and night, moon by moon, Draught and rain, cold and warm, As I came from my mother's belly Grows the seed up from You. Green and golden stands the field, Colors from Your goodness, Faithfully You bring forth life, Moon after moon, year after year. Soon I walk again through You, Harvesting fruit from Your womb, Milling grains and backing my bread. And enjoying I thank You!
