Wild the Buzzards Greet me
Wild the buzzards great me for the eve!
„Here, here, here!” echoes over woods and fields.
As ghosts in the dusk
Giant wings lure me into the dark.
Along flies my heart
And dreams of us
As wild free birds.
Sharp beaks and talons,
Making love,
High in the rocking raw nest,
On cushions of our own and robbed dons,
Covered in scents of field, wood and wind.
Come, meekly lay Your neck
Into my sharp beak,
Let me wash Your feathers
In the last ray of sun
And smoothen them with my tongue.
Let me shout it out
Over the treetops
And highest towers
How I long for You
And my joy about You.
Come very close to me
For the night,
Creep under my wings
With Your glory.
Let's kiss together the moon
And the Orion that wake over us,
And after a night filled with love
The sun who again laughs over us.
