Deep out from the Ancient Earth
Deep out from the Ancient Earth
Deep out from long Forgotten Time
Rises our trunk to the Light.
Trunk surrounded by branches,
Branch hidden in leaf.
A leaf am I beside others,
A fruit beside fruits only.
Laughingly the sun places one into the light,
Laughs again and brings forth the shade.
O crown, flooded by gold and air.
Your moist-dark womb carries all
Our crown aired by golden light.
The deepest root carries the highest leaf.
No root, no twig, no leaf,
No fruit, nothing was ever forgotten.
In our dreams we remember
What our first mothers knew
And what our forefathers believed.
In our fantasy and visions we see
What always was and comes.
